Kansas
Kansas uses brackets from 5.2% to 5.58%, with a 5.58% top published rate. The estimate subtracts a $3,605 single standard deduction and a $9,160 personal exemption, then applies the brackets to taxable wages. Some cities or counties can add a local wage tax; this page leaves them off until you select one.
A traditional 401(k) reduces the state wage base here; it does not reduce Social Security or Medicare. No state disability or paid-leave premium is modeled for employees here yet. Personal exemption amounts are deductions, from the Tax Foundation 2026 table. Local wage taxes exist in a few Kansas jurisdictions and are not named in the local file; use a custom percent if you know the rate.
The example table on this page is a single filer, biweekly, with no deductions, for tax year 2026. It is an educational estimate, not an employer payroll register or a filed return. Compare another state with the same salary when an offer crosses a border.
